Christmas and Winter Emojis

Want to add some flair to your online holiday messages? Use our guide to emojis that are related to Christmas and Winter!

On iPhones, Android devices, and certain websites like Twitter and Facebook, these will show up as colorful icons. On other sites, they will appear as line drawings or possibly show up as broken symbols, so use with caution! On social media, emojis are expected, but they may not show up properly if you try to print them or use them in an email, and some brand-new emojis may only show up on the newest devices.

Santa Claus / Father Christmas ๐ŸŽ…

The big man! In 2016, a Mrs. Claus emoji was approved, but it will be a few years before she appears on all devices: ๐Ÿคถ Another emoji approved in 2016 is the deer, which can represent Santaโ€™s reindeer: ๐ŸฆŒ

There are also โ€œelfโ€ emojis, but they are more like Lord of the Rings elves instead of toy-making North Pole elves! ๐Ÿง

Snowmen โ›„ โ˜ƒ โ›‡

Snowmen are kind of tricky. Some look good when replaced by an icon on a mobile phone or on social media, but when they appear as just a line drawing, they kind of look like a jelly bean with two eyes! Be sure to preview them first to make sure they show up as intended.

Christmas Tree ๐ŸŽ„

One of the few emoji specifically designed for Christmas. To expand the forest, you can add in some pine trees: ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒฒ

Crosses โ›ช โœ โ˜ฆ โ˜ง โ™ฐ โ™ฑ โœž โœŸ

Emojis for the religious side of the holiday. Some of the crosses are representative of certain Christian denominations, so check the proper usage if youโ€™d like to include them in your message. There is also a โ€œplace of worshipโ€ emoji that can represent any faith: ๐Ÿ›

Baby Angel ๐Ÿ‘ผ

Can be used to represent a cherub or even the baby Jesus! By the time the New Year rolls around, you can use the โ€œbabyโ€ emoji to represent Baby New Year: ๐Ÿ‘ถ

Friends and Family ๐Ÿ‘ช

There is a default โ€œfamilyโ€ emoji ๐Ÿ‘ช but there are also combined family emojis where you can choose each family member, but they only allow a default skin tone and only up to two children. Better to line everyone up on their own: ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿพ ๐Ÿ‘ต๐Ÿ‘ด

Thereโ€™s no good โ€œmistletoeโ€ emoji, but if you can snuggle up with a special someone using the โ€œkissโ€ and โ€œloveโ€ couples: ๐Ÿ’ ๐Ÿ’‘
